The theater opened in 2005 alongside Wynn Las Vegas, originally called the Broadway Theater, with the Broadway production Avenue Q as its inaugural show. It was later renamed the Encore Theater and has since hosted major acts including Beyoncé, Garth Brooks, and Lionel Richie.

Local History

The theater originally opened in 2005 as the Broadway Theater with 1,200 seats, specifically built to host Avenue Q — a show Steve Wynn had seen in New York and believed could run for 10 years at the resort. After Avenue Q closed in May 2006, the venue went through several name changes before becoming the Encore Theater.
