Privacy Policy

Sin City Spotlight operates sincityspotlight.com. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to visitors.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
Contact inquiries sent by email or through our social channels, and — if you create an account — your email address, sign-in provider (Google or email magic link), and the bookmarks, venue follows, and preferences you save.
Push notifications
If you opt in to push notifications, your browser provides us with a subscription endpoint that we store so we can send you alerts you've requested. You can revoke push notifications from your profile page or from your browser settings at any time; revoking removes the stored endpoint.
Email communications
When you create an account or subscribe to an alert, we may email you: magic-link sign-in codes, important account notices, and — if you opt in — a weekly digest and event/venue alerts for places you've followed. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time from your profile page or from any email we send.
Information collected automatically
Standard server logs used for security monitoring and operational troubleshooting, plus our own first-party analytics described below.
Information we do not collect
- We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party behavior trackers.
- We do not fingerprint browsers or devices.
- We do not track you across other websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with advertisers.
- We do not process payments or sell tickets directly.
First-Party Analytics
We built our own privacy-respecting analytics system instead of using Google Analytics or similar third-party tools. It runs entirely on our own servers and the data never leaves our infrastructure. It collects:
- pages you visit, approximate time spent, and scroll depth;
- the host of the site that referred you (for example,
google.com) — never the full referring URL; - approximate location (country, sometimes region) derived from your IP address;
- device type, operating system family, and browser family;
- actions taken on the site (for example, searching, bookmarking, clicking a ticket link).
It does not collect:
- your IP address in any stored form — we hash it with a daily-rotating secret and never store the raw value;
- the text of your search queries — we store only the length and how many results were returned;
- form field values, passwords, or any free-form text you type;
- data from any other site, app, or ad network.
If you are signed in, your activity is associated with an internal user ID (not your email or name) so we can power features like bookmarks, follows, and personal recommendations, and so we can understand which features are useful. You can request a copy of this data, or have it disassociated from your account, by emailing [email protected].
This system honors the Global Privacy Control signal and the Do Not Track browser setting — if either is enabled, we do not send analytics events from your browser.
How We Use Information
- To improve the site and understand which content is useful.
- To keep the platform secure and reliable.
- To respond to questions, corrections, or business inquiries.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, only for features that require them: a session cookie when you sign in, and functional preferences you have explicitly set. Our analytics does not use cookies.
Third-Party Services
- Google, if you choose to sign in using a Google account.
- Resend, for transactional email (magic-link sign-in and notifications you opt into).
- Cloudflare, which sits in front of our site and may see your IP address for security filtering and routing.
- Browser push services (operated by your browser vendor — Apple, Google, Mozilla) that deliver push notifications you've opted in to.
- Third-party ticketing providers when you click an outbound ticket link.
Data Retention
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
- Raw analytics events and pageviews: 90 days, then deleted.
- Aggregate, non-identifiable analytics statistics (daily totals, top pages, etc.): retained indefinitely.
- Account data: retained while your account is active; deleted on request.
Your Choices
- Use browser controls to manage cookies and site data.
- Request deletion of personal data we hold by emailing [email protected].
Children’s Privacy
Sin City Spotlight is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS and restricted access to sensitive systems, but no transmission or storage method is perfectly secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective and last-updated dates on this page.
