Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall is a Western-themed Boulder Strip resort on the east side of Las Vegas, owned and operated by Boyd Gaming. It appeals to visitors seeking a blend of gaming, entertainment, and family-friendly fun, with one of the largest casino floors in Las Vegas alongside a hotel, indoor park, bowling center, and movie theater.

Established

Sam's Town opened in March 1979 as Las Vegas' first "locals" casino, named after casino entrepreneur Sam Boyd. The property has expanded many times since, including the addition of a nine-story hotel tower in 1994 and an 18-screen movie theater in 2000.

Arrival Strategy

Sam's Town offers free valet and self-parking, as well as electric vehicle charging stations, making it easy to arrive by car. The property sits on the Boulder Strip east of the Las Vegas Strip, nestled in the shadow of the Sunrise Mountains.

The resort features Mystic Falls Park®, a 25,000-square-foot indoor atrium with a waterfall and live birds, where guests can catch the Sunset Stampede laser and water show. Entertainment options also include Sam's Town Live! (a 1,050-seat concert showroom), Roxy's Saloon for live music, a 56-lane bowling center, a Century 18-screen movie theater, and multiple dining venues including Angry Butcher Steakhouse.

Local History

Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers named their 2006 album "Sam's Town" in honor of the property. From 1998 to 2014, the property also sponsored the Sam's Town 300, an annual NASCAR Xfinity Series race held at nearby Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
